This beginner-friendly Touchdesigner workshop introduces participants to generative art and interactive visuals. Through hands-on exercises, attendees will learn the basics of the Touchdesigner interface and gain confidence creating their own generative visual system in real time. This workshop provides an introduction to generative art through Touchdesigner, providing an insight into interactivity and real-time control. The session is split into 2 parts to allow ample time to understand practical workflows. Exploring how generative systems can be used across art, performance and installations. The session prioritises experimentation, play and building an intuitive understanding of the software.
By the end of the session, participants will
Feel comfortable navigating the Touchdesigner interface
Create generative visual outputs
Gain confidence using TouchDesigner for a range of creative and experimental use cases
Do I need any particular skills?
No prior experience with Touchdesigner or coding is required. This workshop is designed for beginners.
What do I need to bring?
A personal laptop
Touchdesigner installed prior to the session
A basic mouse is recommended (optional)
